Blog Part III

I chose this video because President Franklin Roosevelt proposed a second batch of Bill of Rights, something that I didn't even know existed. These second strain of amendments were dubbed the economic Bill of Rights, hoping that they would have the same type of impact on the United States as the original set of amendments.

Blog Part II

http://www.cato.org/multimedia/daily-podcast/bill-rights-day

I chose this interesting podcast because the speaker gives a different view of the early and present conditions of the Bill of Rights. Most people believe that there was not any type of conflict in passing this document, yet during this time, it was considered very controversial. And to this day, most people don't think twice about the condition of the Bill of Rights, yet the speaker concludes that it is in poor condition and explains why.

Databases:

"Save the Fourth Amendment"
I liked this article because it brings to light that "America's search for safety is relentlessly eroding the precious protections in the Bill of Rights." It also goes on to explain there are mainly other causes that seem to be dwindling down our supposedly unalienable rights and stresses how important they've become.

"The Trouble With Too Much Democracy"
This article is interesting because the author blames not a person for the horrible economy presented in the United States, but the constitution. He believe that the rights within it gave people too much power.

Introduction

My name is Jeff Pemberton and I chose the event that occurred in 1789; the ratification of the Bill of Rights. This event caught my eye because these first ten amendments became the foundation of American government and law. These rights gave and protected people's freedoms that we still cherish to this day in time.

http://blog.billofrightsinstitute.org/ I chose to use this related blog website because it's in-depth explanation and process of the ratification. Including myself, not many people are familiar of what it took for these 10 amendments to pass and modifications they received throughout the year.
